Super oxide dismustase (SOD) is an active protein of very high purity.
Shelf life of a formulation containing this ingredient is 2-3 months when refrigerated.
- Non-refrigerated time, such as time spent in transit from our location to yours after the effect of our cooling cubes has dissipated, could have approximately twice the effect on stability as does refrigerated time: two days in a refrigerator ages the formulation approximately as much as one day at room temperature.
- Our encapsulation methods create an exceptionally stable formulation that will retain its activity much longer than in a water solution.
- Because we include an extremely high concentration of this ingredient, a high percentage of usable material remains even after some material has degraded. As it leaves our manufacturing facility, the formulation contains more of the ingredient than is required to be beneficial to your skin; even if 50% of the ingredient is degraded by the passage of time, the formulation still contains sufficient amounts of the ingredient to be at peak usefulness to your skin.
Any order including this ingredient may require an additional week for formulation.
The price for this ingredient includes charges for special shipping and handling, as follows:
- We will ship the product on the same day that we complete the manufacturing of your formulation.
- We will package the finished product with cooling cubes and additional insulation and keep it refrigerated until we deliver it to the shipping company.
- We will deliver your package to the shipping company just prior to their evening shipment.
- Unless you make alternative arrangements with us, we will ship your package via USPS Express Mail:
- USPS Express Mail guarantees overnight delivery in most of the United States.
- Due to recent increasing unacceptable delays in local Customs clearance of goods shipped from the USA to several member countries of the EU, we no longer ship individual custom retail-size products with highly time-sensitive ingredients to Europe. Since SOD is a highly time-sensitive ingredient, retail customers from European countries should not select this ingredient from The Formulator; we will cancel any such order that we receive. For commercial-size batches, we may agree to include highly time-sensitve ingredients in shipments to Europe but this will require special shipping methods and may be subject to special instructions and conditions. Customers from elsewhere in the world (outside of the USA and outside of the EU) should contact us for instructions and special shipping policies before placing an order that includes this highly time-sensitive ingredient.
- As usual for shipments outside of the United States, you may experience delays while your local Customs office processes your package. You are the "Importer of Record", which means that you may be asked to complete import documentation or pay an import fee. Those matters are controlled by your local government and we cannot interfere with them. Use your tracking number to monitor the progress of your package; if you are concerned about an apparent delay, contact your local mail service or Customs office and use the tracking number to identify your package. After we ship a package, there is nothing we can do to accelerate its delivery to you.
- Elsom Research is responsible for formulating your product and sending it to you, using the delivery address and contact information you provided and using the shipping method we agreed on. After that, you are responsible for coordinating with your local delivery services and, if applicable, your Customs office.
- If you are located outside the continental United States and wish to expedite delivery beyond the speed of USPS Express Mail, you may want to arrange shipment via an alternative courier such as FedEx or DHL. This will normally involve substantially higher shipping costs. Packages handled by such couriers are also subject to delays for Customs processing; however, these couriers are reputed to earn their extra pay by pushing for Customs processing to be completed rapidly so the package can reach its final destination as quickly as possible.
- For large shipments which do not fit USPS Express Mail flat-rate packaging, there may be extra shipping fees. If your order contains multiple items, or if you choose to have your product shipped by an alternative courier, or if you are located in a country to which we ship time-sensitive items only by special courier, we will contact you to arrange payment for the final cost of shipping before we begin manufacturing.
- Please monitor the email account from which you placed this order:
- We will notify you by email that your package has been shipped. The same email message will provide your tracking number.
- You must arrange for someone to be available to sign for the delivery.
- Please monitor the telephone number you provided when you placed this order:
- We will mark your package with your telephone number to assist the shipping company in case they have difficulty locating your address. Be sure the telephone number you provide with your order is valid.
Please refrigerate any formulation containing super oxide dismustase (SOD) as soon as it reaches you. Keep it refrigerated until you have finished using it.
